Authenticity & Certificate of Authenticity Policy
Authenticity & Certificate of Authenticity Policy
Fan Freaks | Sports Memorabilia & Collectibles
Last Updated: October 9, 2026
At Fan Freaks, we understand that authenticity is one of the most important considerations when purchasing autographed sports memorabilia. We are committed to providing accurate product descriptions, clearly identifying authentication documentation, and helping customers make informed purchasing decisions.
1. Our Commitment to Authenticity
Fan Freaks strives to accurately represent every collectible offered for sale.
Our inventory may include autographed jerseys, footballs, basketballs, baseballs, helmets, photographs, and other sports collectibles.
Each product listing should clearly identify whether the item features an original hand-signed autograph, a reproduced signature, or another form of collectible memorabilia.
2. Certificates of Authenticity (COA)
When a product listing states that an item includes a Certificate of Authenticity (COA), the advertised documentation will accompany the purchased item.
Depending on the item, authentication materials may include:
-
A physical Certificate of Authenticity
-
An authentication hologram or numbered sticker
-
A certificate or registration number
-
Other documentation specifically identified in the product listing
The type of authentication included may vary by product.
Customers should review each item's description and photographs to determine exactly what authentication documentation is included.
3. Third-Party Authentication
Certain memorabilia offered by Fan Freaks may include authentication from independent companies.
Examples may include:
-
Professional Autograph Authentication Services (PAAS)
-
James Spence Authentication (JSA)
-
PSA/DNA
-
Beckett Authentication Services (BAS)
-
Other authentication providers identified in individual listings
Mentioning these companies in this policy does not mean that every Fan Freaks item is authenticated by them.
The authentication provider for a particular item will be identified in its product listing when applicable.
Fan Freaks is an independent memorabilia retailer and does not claim affiliation with, endorsement by, or authorization from these authentication companies unless expressly stated.
4. Authentication Verification
When an authentication provider offers an online certificate or serial-number verification service, customers may use that provider's official website to check available authentication records.
Verification availability and the information displayed depend on the issuing company.
A COA or hologram represents the documentation issued for an item; it does not constitute an absolute guarantee that an authentication company's opinion can never be questioned or revised.
5. Original Autographs and Reprint Photographs
Fan Freaks may offer both original hand-signed collectibles and reproduction or reprint photographs.
Original Hand-Signed Memorabilia
Products identified as originally autographed are represented as having a signature physically applied to the item.
Reprint or Reproduction Photographs
Reprint photographs may reproduce an image of an original signed photograph, including a printed reproduction of the autograph.
A printed signature is not an original hand-signed autograph.
Reprint products will be identified as reproductions in their product listings and should not be represented as independently authenticated original autographs.
6. Product Photographs and Descriptions
We strive to provide accurate photographs and descriptions of our merchandise.
Customers are encouraged to review the complete listing, including any information about autograph placement, authentication materials, condition, size, and other relevant product characteristics.
If you have questions about a particular collectible or its authentication, please contact us before purchasing.
7. Missing or Incorrect Authentication Documentation
If your order arrives without authentication documentation specifically advertised in the product listing, please contact us at fanfreaksports@gmail.com.
Include your order number, a description of the issue, and any relevant photographs.
We will review the concern and work toward an appropriate resolution in accordance with our policies and applicable consumer protection laws.
8. Authenticity Concerns and Disputes
If you have a concern about the authenticity of an item purchased from Fan Freaks, please contact us with your order number and supporting information.
We will review the original listing, available authentication documentation, and any relevant evidence.
Where appropriate, we may request additional information or consider findings from a qualified independent authentication provider.
We will address substantiated concerns in accordance with applicable law and our Return and Refund Policy.
Nothing in this policy limits a customer's legal rights or remedies for merchandise that is materially misrepresented or not as described.
